Two politicians walk into a bar. While discussing which drink was best, the debate became heated. Although both believed they were right, they eventually agreed to disagree. Unfortunately, the argument lasted so long that the drinks evaporated!
Can you imagine your life being controlled by such nonsense?
If you rely on government programs to survive then that’s exactly what you’re doing!
Speaking from experience, it’s not fun. That’s why I’m so passionate about financial independence.
People with disabilities can have careers and have their needs met, right? Yes, technology and capitalism have created ways for people with disabilities to survive and thrive in the American economy. However, there are legal hurdles preventing us from achieving financial independence.
I cannot accept these limitations. I believe there are solutions in the private sector, especially in my case. Seeing crazy ideas, like cryptocurrency and SPACs, created daily in the business world fills me with hope.
Creating awareness is the first step. You can help by sharing this information on social media. I ask this not to promote my financial planning practice, but to help bring change to this injustice.
People with disabilities need permission to pursue independence without fear of losing benefits.
I propose an account that wouldn’t be considered a resource when qualifying for benefits. This account would allow me to accumulate capital needed to pay staff and invest, providing me with a way off the system. Hopefully, this becomes a blueprint for other people with disabilities.
My solution is simple, but outside support is needed before it can be implemented. That support could be anything from an executive order from the President to a financial law expert helping me create a special account. Unfortunately, local politicians and lawyers haven’t been helpful, but I still have faith in the business community.
